What happens if a grading company pauses submissions?

If a grading company temporarily closes for submissions we store your cards insured until the service reopens. If their price rises in the meantime, a surcharge matching that increase can apply.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about grading

What we get asked most: price, turnaround, the difference between PSA, BGS and CGC, and what your Pokémon cards are worth.

What does BGS grading cost in Europe?+

BGS Base starts at €25.89 per card and BGS Express at €98.18 per card through Slabbed.eu on submissions of 10+ cards (€27.84 and €109.09 on smaller submissions), including Beckett's grading fee, our handling and applicable taxes. Return shipping is a flat fee per submission and insurance is optional, based on declared value. BGS never adds value based upcharges.

What is a grading middleman, and what does Slabbed do?+

Slabbed.eu, operated by Dragon & Co. ApS in Denmark, is a grading middleman for Europe. We submit to BGS (Beckett), CGC and PSA on a rolling basis, so you only ship your cards to our address inside the EU. We handle the grader account, export paperwork, insurance and the tracked return.

What does PSA grading cost through Slabbed?+

PSA is open for every service level. Standard Intro is €52.49 per card as a limited time price, Standard €62.99, Priority €83.99 and Express €208.95, including applicable taxes and our handling. PSA does not receive a bulk discount. PSA prices by declared value, so a valuable card moves up into a more expensive tier.

How do I get my Pokémon cards graded by BGS, PSA or CGC from Europe?+

You create a submission on Slabbed.eu, pay online and ship the cards to our address. We photograph, pack and hand them over to the grading company, keep you updated the whole way, and return them tracked and insured. BGS, CGC and PSA are open now.

What is the difference between PSA, BGS and CGC grading?+

PSA is the most widely recognised label and historically achieves the highest resale prices, especially on vintage Pokémon, but adds upcharges based on card value. BGS (Beckett) uses sub-grades, has the Black Label 10 and never adds upcharges, and is strong on modern cards. CGC has fast turnaround and competitive pricing. We submit to all three.

How long does grading take?+

BGS Base typically runs 75+ business days at Beckett and BGS Express around 15 business days, counted from the moment the grading company receives the cards. Transport to and from the grader adds roughly one to two weeks in total. You follow every step in your account.

Are my cards insured along the way?+

Yes. Your cards are insured from the moment we receive them until they are back with you. We photograph every submission so you have full documentation. Insurance is added based on the declared value you choose.

Do my cards need card savers, and what do they cost?+

Yes. Cards must be shipped in card savers or a similar semi rigid holder so they survive transport and the grading company can handle them. If you do not have any, you can add card savers during the submission flow for a small per card fee. Do not use top loaders or penny sleeves on their own.

How much are my Pokémon cards worth?+

Value depends on the card, condition, rarity and whether it is already graded. We are happy to give a free indicative valuation before you submit, so you can judge whether grading pays off.
